ABOUT DEBBIE

Simple Abundance to me is the opportunity to evaluate and change how you lead your life.  Through gratitude you will find that all you have is all you really need.  Leading to Simplicity and Order where you make choices about how you spend your time and money.  Harmony allows you a chance to find balance.  Beauty opens your eyes to your own beautiful life along with the beauty that surrounds us each day.  Joy is what you find in your heart along the path to Simple Abundance.

I grew up in southeastern Colorado and attended the University of Colorado in Boulder and graduated from Barnes College with a degree in marketing.  I’ve been married to my best friend for 28 years, and thanks to his career as an Air Force helicopter pilot we have been fortunate to live all over the world.  In 1995 we returned to Albuquerque New Mexico from Korea and Dave retired.  He continues to teach Air Force pilots to fly one of the Air Forces’ newest aircraft, the CV-22 Osprey.

We have an awesome hobby, owning a hot air balloon, CAVU meaning Ceiling And Visibility Unlimited, with Dave as the pilot and I’m the “Air Boss”.  CAVU is an old weather term and very adequately describes flying in New Mexico and the desert southwest.  We are fortunate to have wonderful friends who “crew” for us.  We have flown in events in beautiful Monument Valley, Utah: Lake Powell, Arizona; Gunnison and Pagosa Springs, Colorado; Gallup, New Mexico and of course the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta.

For the past 19 years I have been involved with management of several dental and orthodontic practices.  I currently manage a general practice that specializes in TMJ disorders.  Fortunately, the doctor I work for now, is semi-retired and I only work 3 days a week.

My wonderful friend Cathi gave me Sarah’s wonderful book, Simple Abundance for my birthday in 1998.  I had read the book off and on for several years, but had yet to realize the full impact of her wonderful gift.  In 1999 I was struggling with the possibility of a job change and writing in a gratitude journal helped me decide to seek less stressful employment.  That change brought me a wonderful doctor and I was fortunate to work with him for over six and half years before he sold his practice. After just a couple of months, December 2005, the new doctor fired me.  Little did I realize at the time this was one of the greatest gifts of my life.

Starting January 1, 2006 I read Simple Abundance every day.  Sarah’s daily mediations lead me to first and for most be grateful; grateful for all things in my life.  Second, that all I have is all I really need.  As I worked through the Simple Abundance principles more clarity came into my life.  I was beginning to fully appreciate my wonderful life.  I’m so fortunate to have a loving, supportive husband and great friends.

During the late summer of 2007 I frequently was journaling about my desire to “give back to women in my community”.  Again my great friend Cathi encourages me to lead a group of women through the principles of Simple Abundance.  Again Sarah guides me, and introduces “Certified Leaders Training”.  With much gratitude I have a new direction in my life.

I went to Simple Abundance Certified Leadership Training for myself first.  I knew I wanted to give back to women in my community.  I had been journaling about how I could give back to women and Simple Abundance kept coming up.  I even had friends who wanted me to lead a workshop based on Sarah’s teachings, before the training was advertised.

I thank God, my wonderful husband Dave, and Sarah for this wonderful opportunity.

With Blessings and Gratitude.

Debbie
